Reception at Society of Biblical Literature/American Academy of Religion annual meeting

The Center and Library for the Bible and Social Justice, in conjunction with Wipf & Stock publishers, will honor its grand opening at a reception during the annual meeting of the Society of Biblical Literature (SBL) and the American Academy of Religion (AAR) to be convened in San Francisco November 19-22. The reception follows the October launching of the Center and Library located at Stony Point Center, 40 miles north of New York City.

The SBL/AAR reception will be held at the Parc Wyndham 55 Hotel, in the Hearst Room, on Sunday, Nov. 20, 8:00-9:30 p.m. Members of the board of directors will describe why and how the Center & Library was formed and welcome questions. The editors of the anthology Liberating Biblical Study: Scholarship, Art, and Action in Honor of the Center and Library for the Bible and Social Justice will comment on its unique intent and format. Copies will be available for sale at discount. Light refreshments will be served. All attendees of the annual meeting are welcome at the reception.
